February 2018 Wrap-Up

I know February is the shortest month of the year, but this month really flew by too quickly. This year has been really amazing so far, but the one thing it is definitely feeling short on is enough time to fit in all of its awesome. I still have a lot of blogs on the back burner, but I am really happy with how much I accomplished in February. I really liked the format I used for this post last month, so until I figure out a better one that is what I will stick to.

February “Big Wins”

This month started with teaching a cosplay workshop at JoAnn Fabrics. We had a great turnout for this. If you are local to the Upstate SC area, and interested in attending more events in the area then you should definitely check out Upstate SC Cosplay.

I’ve also been a lot more motivated to start working out again. I have been running at least twice a week, and going to the gym. It feels good to be getting back in shape. I even ran 3 miles without stopping before the end of the month, which was my goal. As a result of exercising more regularly, I have also been eating healthier as well. I hope to be back in superhero shape in time for SC Comicon.

One thing I am especially excited about is that I started an Instagram page for my own photography. Sometimes it is nice to be behind the camera rather than in front of it. If you are interested in following me you can follow @pixelheartphoto on Instagram. Oh, and I guess I did add one more social media to the line up this month. You can find me on Vero as Sadie by Design in case you jumped on that bandwagon.

I didn’t miss a single Feature Friday for February. You should check out all of my awesome features.

I got to spend a lot of time with two of my best friends this month as they came to visit me. We helped Katie and Austin celebrate their one year anniversary with a game of Dungeons and Dragons. The following weekend, Kelly came to visit, and it was just perfect. I miss them so much.

The final weekend of February was Captain’s Comic Expo, which I have had the honor of being a guest and cosplay judge at for the past 3 years. It is one of my favorite conventions. The vendors are top notch, the staff is amazing, and it is one of the most family friendly cons I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending. I hope to be able to attend for many more times in the future. I was able to take some amazing photos of my Belle dress with my friend Austin (@caffeinatedvillain on Instagram) as the Beast. This weekend was made extra special though because Josh and I took our engagement photos with John Nettles before returning. It really was a perfect weekend. Sneak previews below.

Do Better Next Time

I would say that my “do better next time” is really less than it was in January. I feel like Febraury really kicked ass, so it’s hard to look at it as if it had any negatives There is always room for improvement.

  • I still failed at YouTube. I really am not feeling as bad about it though. I have some videos planned, but I need to take the time to edit them.
  • We were able to declutter a lot of the house, but now, the cosplay room is back to it’s unfortunate disarray. I doubt this is going to get better in March, but a girl can hope.
  • I want to focus on cosplay more this month. I really had to let progress fall to the wayside because of personal goings-on this month. I’m definitely not regretting the break, but I have SC Comicon to prepare for.
  • Refocusing is a big thing for me. I got so excited from getting my crafting mojo back that I started too many new projects. I will have to refocus on finishing what I already started.

How was February for you? What is going on in March for you? This year isn’t slowing down, so I hope you’re along for the wild ride. Leave a comment, and don’t forget to subscribe via email or Bloglovin’ to never miss a post.
