Why I chose to make this costume:

In truth, I didn’t really make this costume. I bought it from eBay, and made heavy modifications. I wanted to do a cosplay for a pinup style photoshoot at a car show, and this skin of D.Va from Overwatch released right on time.

Thoughts on this costume:

Even though most of this costume was purchased, I did add a little bit of my own touch to it all. The headphones required some color correction using paint upon receiving. And the pants were meant for Asian sizing, and I had to let them out significantly. Even then, they still felt glued on.

I love classic cars and pinups, so combining my love for those into cosplay was a ton of fun. I also cried that day because the perfect car for the character was at the show, and I was so lucky to be allowed to take a few photos in the vehicle. The upside down one is still one of my favorite cosplay photos to this day.
