Why I chose to make this costume:

I mean, Barbie? But really, I absolutely loved the Barbie movie, and knew I had to cosplay something from it from the moment I saw the first trailer. Also, my friend Dani agreed to make a coordinating outfit with me similar to how you can buy Barbie and her friends in multiple colors of the same outfit and hair colors.

Thoughts on this costume:

It’s always the simplest costumes that are the most deceivingly difficult and complicated. Dani helped to make the files for the endless amount of Cricut stars we ironed onto these outfits. The patterns were a mashup of several different patterns from Etsy that we both mocked up several times before settling on a final draft for our patterns. The most fun part of this costume for me was learning to foil the shoes. I absolutely love this outfit, and she really deserves more time in the sun. Maybe she’ll get another wear soon!
