April 2018 Wrap-up

I will admit, I expected after getting the website back up and running that blog posts would be flowing like crazy, but I just haven’t been that motivated to write recently. I think that it is like anything for me that I get super behind on. I have some anxiety about all the ideas I have that are piling up, and I don’t know where to start. I’m going to attempt to remedy this starting by catching up on the month I’m behind on, and then push forward with getting a few ideas off my list.

Between Fantasy and Reality

This is how I would describe how I lived my life in April. There were so many good things that came and went in April, and I really loved it because this year just keeps getting better. I will say, I’m so behind on blog posts, and I don’t want to give too much away from those future posts. Here is a speed through of all the great things that happened in April.

I have been saying for about a year now that I want to start doing more original character designs, and April I branched out of my comfort zone twice to become two different elves for some fun spring photo shoots. I love fantasy, and it’s fun to escape responsibility and reality for a while by finding a dream world hidden right under our noses. From my engineering by day perspective, I attended the NAB show in Las Vegas, and it was a blast. This trip was a lot of work, but also found time to play as well. Vegas is its own fantasy world, and I really enjoyed getting to see it as an adult (last time I was there I was eight).

Greenville Craft Beer Week was in April, and Josh treated me to the Birds Fly South beer dinner collaboration with the Trappe Door. We are so busy, and it was nice to slow down and just enjoy a date night together doing something different.

My cousin had a wedding that felt straight out of a fairy tale in Omaha towards the end of the month. I am so happy for her, and their big day made me super excited for mine at the end of October.

Josh’s friend Matt came down for the last weekend of April, and we had an impromptu adventure day with him and his girlfriend who I became insta-friends with. They were so easy going, and I’m excited at the possibility they may move closer one day.

Moving Forward

I’m going to try my hardest to start getting these posts out on the last day of the month again. I’m still creating new things all the time, but I’ve admitted that with less than six months to the wedding a lot more of my attention is really going to have to start focusing on that. I just keep telling myself to stay positive and keep moving forward no matter how busy or overwhelmed I feel. And that I can sleep when I’m dead.

Has spring been treating you well? What are some activities that have been keeping you busy this season? Do you have any tips for me to stay focused on getting wedding planning done sooner rather than later?
