Trimming Spider-Gwen Wig

This week’s theme is prep for Captain’s Comic Expo. The last post was how to make your own foam mask as I updated my Black Cat mask. Today is trimming a wig since the only times I’ve worn this outfit my wig has been waaaaaay too long. Example A below by Brooklyn Ash Photography.

Obviously the first thing I needed to do was sit down with some proper references, so I pulled out my Spider-Gwen comic books. The second picture is my favorite for my references.

Basically, I just started trimming down the length. I referenced this video as well as this one for some tips on trimming wigs for cosplay. I also kept a wig cap on through this process, so I could try it on periodically.

The biggest tip I have for you through this process is to make sure you have something laid out under you because it will make a mess. I definitely have more learning to do, but this was a good start. Once again, I don’t have photos of it in cosplay yet, but I will after this weekend!

Would this be more helpful as a video when I have more experience under my belt? Did you find this helpful? Any tips I need to know that will make this process easier? Make sure to leave a comment with any questions or suggestions, and if you liked this post subscribe via email for more!
