ColouredContacts.com Review

UPDATE 10/20/2018 IMPORTANT PLEASE READ! I recently was contacted by this company again to do more with them, but I have reached out to them to express my readers issues with them in hopes that they will use that as a prompt to up their game. I really appreciate those that have taken the time to respond to this post about their negative experience. I am sorry that you have had such issues with this company. After further investigation, I can see that there are countless reports of this company’s poor customer care and bad product. I NO LONGER ENDORSE THESE CONTACTS.

Recently we talked about Contacts for Cosplay 101. Very shortly after I received two complimentary pairs of circle lenses from ColouredContacts.com to review. I’m very excited that this company reached out to me as before this I was not aware of them. To start this review, I would like to state that while these lenses were free, all opinions are my own.

Coloured Contacts

The first thing I do when looking into a new company for cosplay anything is check out their website, and see what they are all about. Coloured Contacts is a Netherlands based company that has been around for over twenty years.

Their website is very user friendly. I especially like that they have such a wide variety of ways to search for lenses, such as by color, by style, or by duration the lenses will last. I knew from their website and history that this company was definitely worth checking out. From what I can tell this is strictly a costume contacts store meaning that they do not do prescription contacts.

What did they send me?

Aside from two pairs of lenses they also sent me everything I would need to get get my contacts safely from the package and into my eyes. I really wish I had done an unboxing video for this because I was really taken by surprise by how generous they were. They sent me contact solution, two cases to keep my lenses in, and a small kit that came with tweezers and a small plunger. I haven’t quite figured out what the small plunger is for, but the tweezer proved safe in assisting the removal of my contacts from the product packaging. They definitely went above and beyond to make sure I would have a pleasant experience with their lenses.

Green Hulk Lenses

The first pair of lenses I tried were the Green Hulk Lenses. They are funky and vibrant, and I can’t wait to figure out what I will use them to do. They are 14.5 mm in diameter, but i would say there is about 4 mm of clear lens around the colored part. This means that they do not increase the size of your iris, but the color makes these a great lens for effect.

These lenses are super comfortable, and they really do pop. Since these are a heavy effect lens they do have color much tighter to the pupil. This means that if you have larger pupils it will obscure your vision. I noticed that my vision was slightly hazy from these lenses.

Misty Brown Lenses

I will update this post when I have the proper link for these lenses. I opted to do one funky pair and one more natural pair. Overall, I really enjoyed these lenses, and would 100% recommend them. My eyes are naturally hazel, and these blended very well with my natural color to give me a very doll-eyed look. These lenses were also 14.5 mm diameter, but the color goes to the edge of the lens for that full on kawaii effect.

These were ultimately more comfortable than the other lenses because they were softer, but this also makes them harder to insert into your eye, in my personal opinion. This is a small price to pay for how good they look and feel.

Final Comments

I hope you found this review and the pictures helpful. I will definitely, 100% be buying from them again since their contacts so far are top notch. Plus, they have free shipping to the US for 6-12 day shipping, and 4-6 working days for only $9.50 extra.  I would also mention that right now they are running a special where you can get two lenses for $35. I strongly recommend checking out ColouredContacts.com for your next need for contacts for cosplay.

Thanks! They definitely both exceeded my expectations. I’m not sure what to use the hulk pair for though.. Open to suggestions!

Those green hulk ones are crazy! They really pop. Unfortunately I had to give up wearing colored lenses since I’m allergic to most contact solutions, but this is a really good deal that I’ll keep in mind in case anyone asks about brands.

I remember you telling me about this at PAX. It’s sad, but your eye health is definitely more important than cosplay. Some people don’t take care of themselves, so I’m happy you are!!

I’ve bought several things from them, and all of their contacts have been wonderful. I have nothing bad to say about them.

Lol wait are you like a spokesperson on here? If everyone here has been ripped off and you are the only one that’s gotten yours then the majority outdoes you kid. Don’t try to raise them up, but speaking on that you probably work for them and benefit from us. That’s some sad shit.

This review is over a year old. They recently reached out to me again, but I had not responded because I am getting married in a week and haven’t had time for anything recently. I am going to let them know that they need to take better care of their customers or I will no longer associate my brand with them just for free stuff. I do not work for them, so while I am sorry you cannot get in contact with customer service, I will not be able to help alleviate your issue. Hopefully, reaching out to them on my reader’s behalf will at least prompt them to offer better support.

How long did they take to ship them to you?

Honestly, I’ve never had shipping be more than a week because I believe they have a US based shipping center. The last time I got lenses from them they were shipped from Tennessee, if I remember correctly.

This post was sponsored, but I have no control over issues you have with your order. Please take your problems up with the company. Personally, I have had no issues with this company. They have had fast shipping and quality product. This includes orders I have placed outside of this sponsored post. Thank you.

You’re lucking, I got ripped off. I got the Silver Glimmer (they look like crystals or diamonds in your eyes and all I get is this faded subtle gray. I also bought Blue Galaxy and similar, hardly anyone could tell I was wearing contacts and said they didn’t notice a difference. Lesson learned.

I’m sorry to hear that. Sometimes, if you have dark natural eye color, certain special effects contacts won’t show very well over them. This is unfortunate, but not the fault of the company. If you have lighter colored eyes, perhaps there was an issue with your products. Please take your issues with products up with the company rather than with my blog. I have had no issues with them, and gave an honest review based on my own experience. Overall, you ultimately received what you paid for even if it was not what you expected. Thank you.

Quite literally the WORST customer service I have every endured in my entire life. I would not suggest spending one red cent with these crooks, worthless.

I am reaching out to them to tell them to either fix these issues or I will update this post with negative feedback. I am sorry that you have had such issues.

There’s a little issue though. I can’t seem to get ahold of customer support. Bought my skull contacts almost two weeks ago and it said shipped, but I didn’t get anything in the mail. E-mailed them because calling seemed to be impossible and its been a few days. Kinda worried I’m getting ripped here.

I have since updated this post to state that I no longer endorse this brand, and do not recommend buying from them. If you are having issues, I am not associated with this business, and you will need to continue to try getting with their customer service. I’m sorry for your problems.
