March 2017 Wrap-up

March has zoomed by as a whirlwind of conventions, and in proper fashion, I spent this month racing to get cosplays done for their convention debut. This month has been insanely good for Sadie by Design, and let me tell you why.

In case you didn’t know, I bought Josh a Spider-Man suit for Christmas/ his birthday, and I finally got to see it in action this month.

Comic release day at the beginning of March was a big deal for me because I was featured in Marvel’s Unstoppable Wasp #3 as a member of the Agents of G.I.R.L. Needless to say. I AM STILL SO HONORED!!! You can read the whole interview here.

I was also featured as one of the top 75 cosplay websites on the internet. You may have noticed my fancy new display on the sidebar.

Onward with convention madness! Our first convention this March was PAX East in Boston, MA. I loved this convention last year, and I’m so happy we were able to go back this year. I finished my first handmade cosplay of the year for this con, which is a costume I’ve wanted to do for quite some time now, Princess Peach from Mario Tennis. Kyla Cosplay, who was one of my features earlier this month cosplayed as Rosalina, and Mario and Luigi were taken up by Josh and Matt respectively.

Of course, this little GIF from PAX was one of my favorites.

I didn’t finish my Belle’s ballgown costume in time for the movie premier, but I did see the movie! If you haven’t checked out Tales From the Fandom podcast yet, then now is your chance. I was a guest on his show, and you should listen as we over-analyze every aspect of the movie in our review.

This month, I got to be my favorite fairy at my first birthday party. I had a blast, and I think the birthday girl did too.

Wrapping up the month was SC Comicon. This convention holds a special place in my heart, and I have been suffering some pretty brutal post-con depression due to it. I debuted Sailor Moon at it this past weekend, and she couldn’t have been a bigger hit.
