Love Yourself- Be Your Own Hero

I am excited to announce a new campaign that I am helping White Knight Cosplay kickstart. We were able to take our first photos with the banner she made at Heroes Con 2016 this past weekend. Thanks to her excellent networking skills she was able to get the fabulous cosplay judges to support us at the show as well.

The Campaign

The campaign is designed to help people improve their self-image and find the hero inside themselves. Cosplay is an excellent way to become the hero we’ve always wanted to be. It can even help people in learning self love and personal growth. We had a great group of cosplayers participate in the photo. It was awesome!

My Story

I thought I’d share a little bit of a personal story here. This campaign means a lot to me because we live so much of our lives doing what other people expect of us rather than the things we love most. Cosplay came into my life during a time when I was at a crossroads in life. I had a lot of things change in my life when I moved to South Carolina that completely pulled the rug out from under my plans on where my life was heading. The option to cosplay was presented to me at a time where I had to make the decision to live my life for myself or continue trying to live a life in other people’s shadows. I chose happiness.

In the past two years I’ve learned to let my own light shine as brightly as I want, and it has been awesome discovering that most of the world supports me in making decisions for myself. The great thing about the world is that it is filled with so many different types of people who are all necessary to make the world spin round. Don’t be ashamed to be who you want to be along your journey, and do yourself a favor: Be your own hero!

Do you have any suggestions for our campaign? How are you your own hero? Can we help you to discover self love and be your own hero? Share your story below. Don’t forget to subscribe via email or Bloglovin‘ to never miss a post!

Awesome post! I love that we all have different stories that lead us into cosplay. I can’t wait to hear more stories from the people we meet as we do this campaign!!
