Announcing Geek Week

I am happy to announce that I am doing another collaboration for our Geeks & Beauties google community. For March we are doing Geek Week, which means you will be getting a post not just Tuesday and Thursday this week, but each day, Monday through Friday I will have a super geeky post for you!

But, Sadie, what could you possibly have so much to write about? Good question. I’ve been asking myself the same thing since I signed up for the collab. Good news! I came home from a colorist signing at Richard’s Comics and Collectibles with four new comics, which prompted my boyfriend to ask me if I ever actually read the comics I buy.

Originally, I had wanted to post about cosplay this week, but I’m travelling for work this week. That’s just not easy to do from the road. Luckily, thanks to Josh’s question, I packed up a decent number of my backlogged comic books to keep myself entertained this week. It got me thinking.

This week I will be presenting a number of posts on different comics. It will cover a range of topics.

• Why I buy specific comics
• My thoughts on the comics
• Recommendations
• Even a look at an animated movie based on some comics.  (Yes, I’m cheating, but you’ll see why)

Here is an idea of how many comics I have backlogged. I pulled out the ones I brought with me to pick a few for the plane ride, which prompted the lady next to me to nudge her husband and point at them. I laughed out loud because… I really think she didn’t think I could see her. I’m still laughing now. This is maybe 1/6 of the comics that I’ve built up. Oops. It’s ok though. I’ll catch up.
