Super Ordinary

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of shooting with a new photographer, Ryan Fonner. He reached out to me after SC Comicon to help him with a photography project for a class he was taking. I ended up being able to help him out for his final project.

The assignment was to pick a photographer you admire and use it as inspiration. Ryan chose to use Wonder Woman by Dulce Pinzon, which he originally saw at the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh. Even superheroes can’t escape the activities of everyday life.

This shoot was lighthearted and fun, and I’m very excited to share the photos with you. It also taught me a few new things because I did my own costume transition mid-shoot.

First, Super Girl needed some Starbucks where she learned all about the things people have been writing about her.

Before she took off to save the world she had to put some gas in the car. She can’t fly everywhere. Think about how exhausting that would be.

After Super Girl took off we ran into Black Widow at the Southern Growl. She was having a very dark beer, and a playing what looked like an intense game of shuffleboard with Hawkeye (asked not to be photographed).

A huge thanks to Starbucks, QT and the gentlemen at Southern Growl for allowing us to use your establishments for these photos.

An extra special thanks to Ryan for inviting me to help you with this project. You can see the full album of this project on my Facebook page.
